Journey to law
Lola was drawn to a career in law because she wanted to work in a job where she could help people and solve problems. She decided upon this career path whilst she was in secondary school and has been committed to this journey ever since.
Lola then studied Law at Nottingham Trent University and kicked off her career at EY as a paralegal, then secured a training contract. Following the completion of her training contract, Lola stayed at EY post-qualification and joined the employment team as a solicitor.
She also completed an international secondment with EY Australia’s legal team and was based in the Sydney office for three months.
Employment law stood out to Lola because the subject matter is interesting and has widespread application, as most people are either an employer or an employee. The ability to assist those who are struggling with work-related issues is a key part of the role and is something that Lola enjoys doing on a daily basis at Jones Chase.
