Journey to law

Louise switched from history to law after doing a law option in her first year at university, which she really enjoyed. She experimented with becoming an accountant but only to discover that it was not for her. She had a calling back to law and was lured by the excitement of bringing the subject to life in practice.

Prior to becoming a solicitor, Louise travelled extensively and accepted a job as a paralegal in the employment department of a large law firm. She discovered that she loved the discipline so much that when she began her legal training she had no desire to do anything other than employment law.

Louise became an employment lawyer because it allows her to work with people to make a difference to their lives on a daily basis, whether acting for employers or employees. We are not all born with the same opportunities, but she believes that everyone should be treated fairly and be given a chance. Employment law allows her to put her deeply held values into practice whilst also being an area of the law that makes sense to her – she can relate to it.

A huge thank you to you for all of your kind support and time.

You have been flexible, approachable, clearly advised, gone over and above a lot of times in terms of late evenings and we’ve also managed to utilise our sense of humour – which I think is important.

Your kind and valued support, advice and time, means so much to me.  All in all, you’ve been excellent.

To make things right. To ensure people are treated properly while they’re at work and also when they leave. It’s about putting things right when things go wrong.
It more why have I chosen to carry on working for JC. Because Dean is great, he’s very caring and really cares about what we do for clients and that we do it right. He’s very passionate. It’s also the type of clients we have and the type of work.
JC cares about its people and its clients. People aren’t just a number. It’s about doing the best for people. For example sometimes it’s not about getting the client the most money, it’s a different outcome they’re looking for.
Doing a good job to help the client. I’m deadline driven so when I’m approaching a deadline I find that motivating.
