Community & diversity

Jones Chase is a proud member of LeGaL BesT, a network for law firms which encourages members of staff regardless of their sexuality to engage with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) diversity issues. We believe we can achieve more by working together.

LeGal BesT includes member firms which are not large enough to support their own internal LGBT networks and wish to support LeGal BesT to provide a network for their LGBT staff, which provides support, education and social events.

Pro bono

Waterloo Legal Advice Service

A weekly drop in law centre based on Lower Marsh, Waterloo with city lawyers advising on all legal matters from housing, immigration, employment law and other issues for local Southwark residents.   Shona Newmark has advised here for over 25 years and Zainab Hakim is also a contributor.

The Latin Programme – via facilis

Jones Chase is proud to have worked with ‘The Latin Programme – via facilis’ in providing employment advice and document review on a pro bono basis.

The Latin Programme – via facilis and its teaching staff deliver Latin classes in state primary schools in fun and engaging ways in order to improve English literacy.  By focusing on reading and writing Latin, they encourage a deeper understanding of the nuances of the English language.

At Jones Chase we firmly believe in the importance of literacy and learning and the use of innovative methods of teaching to inspire. We are delighted to support a charity which has a positive impact on the schools that they operate in.

Jones Chase provided me with exceptional legal advice and invaluable support through what could have been an intimidating and stressful scenario. From our first interaction I was confident we would come out with a decent result; the final outcome surpassed my expectations!
